Facing Fear

There are many genuine fears at the moment in this current covid-19 crisis: fear of sickness, fear of the unknown, fear of what may occur if I don’t abide by the government measures, fear of losing my job if I don’t participate, fear of losing my freedoms, fear of putting an experimental “vaccine”1 in my body. Like many, when I first heard the news of the pandemic in March 2020, I was anxious and fearful. It didn’t take long though before I noticed that the information we were receiving didn’t measure up. Scepticism set in. Since then new fears have arisen about the information we are receiving. Do masks really prevent this virus from spreading? Are PCR tests a reliable indicator for determining the presence of this virus? Are the numbers of covid cases being accurately reported or even misinterpreted? In this post, I look at the ways God has given me to address these fears. One way has been to hunt for truth.

Pray for Truth

God is truth and will bring the truth to light. “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light” Luke 8:17. I find this a comfort in the middle of so many unknowns and knowing this leads me to continue praying and seeking. I haven’t found answers to all my questions, but I have found some. I have noticed that when a new piece of information in the covid and vaccination debate is revealed, if I wait a while, reliable scientists and doctors begin to discuss it and eventually I see a better picture of what is happening. In saturating myself in God’s Word, I can also check these messages with what God says.

Ask Questions

Paul encourages the Thessalonians to “test all things; hold fast what is good” (1 Thess 5:21). Testing starts by asking questions and thinking critically. Our education system values inquiry. When doctors and websites are censored one has to wonder if someone is hiding something.

Some of my questions have been, Why haven’t doctors in Australia been allowed to prescribe Ivermectin if it is a reliable treatment for covid-19? Instead it has been banned when many other countries are using it successfully. Do people know about the numbers of adverse reactions to the two covid “vaccines” we use in Australia, as reported to the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Association)? As of the 4/8/2021, there have been 45579 adverse reactions and 435 deaths reported. The TGA have stated themselves that there is under-reporting. This is extraordinarily high for a “vaccine”, so why then is it permitted? I’m sure you have your own questions. Keep asking!

Beware of Emotional messages

Both the mainstream media and other social platforms can use fear and panic to motivate us whichever side of the camp we are on. We study propaganda in our English and History lessons at school but we aren’t always as good at recognising it when it lies under our noses. Even our well-meaning neighbours and colleagues can put pressure on us, suggesting that by not going along with the popular or even official government narrative that 80% of Australians be “vaccinated” to get us out of lockdown, we are either conspiracy theorists, endangering the “rest of us”, or even that we aren’t being reasonable and caring for the community if we don’t abide by the measures.

We need to find sources of information with well reasoned articles based on real science, that do not rely on emotionally loaded language. Here are two Australian websites that I have found helpful: Covid Medical Network and Concerned Lawyers Network, with links to their open letters. There is a plethora of information across the globe. Well supported, independently researched information brings confidence to make the decisions that need to be made.

We can’t make level-headed decisions when we are motivated by fear. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7) We need to exercise this sound mind and not be motivated by panic. God wants to fill us with His peace. Sometimes this means removing ourselves from the people and the types of newsfeeds that stir up fear and panic and seeking out places where the news has rational evidence to support its claims. In spite of what I find in the media, in spite of what accusations or pressure I might receive, I can bring every concern to God (Phil. 4:6-7) and in trusting Him, I will receive a peace which passes understanding.

Act where possible

It’s easy to just ‘go with the flow’ sometimes. It takes focus and energy to question the status quo. The enemy would want us to feel trapped and either take a passive stance, or to act quickly out of fear, but there is positive action we can take. In the public arena, we can write to politicians, sign petitions and so on. Privately, we can educate ourselves and pray for our leaders, our communities and our families. On a family level, we can be proactive in bolstering our family’s immunity by sleeping and eating well, reducing refined sugars and starches (which lower our immunity), taking vitamin D3 and other helpful natural virus inhibitors. And if we catch covid, read “A Guide to Homebased Covid Treatment”.

Protect our children

Our children are listening to our discussions, the news, and their friends talk about the crisis. If possible we need to monitor what they see and hear and help them to interpret the news they do hear. If we are fearful, it may only increase their anxieties. Creating a safe place for them to share what is going on in their hearts is important. We can teach them to pray and cast their cares on God. (1 Peter 5:7)

In every health decision we make for our children, we need honest information and wisdom. The pressing one at the moment is whether we should “vaccinate” our families. We owe it to our children and teenagers to be very well informed about all the dangers (known and potential) of the jab. We need to ask ourselves, “is it safe, effective and necessary?” See AVN’s website for information. Our children are the least at risk. Do we need to “protect” them from a virus they are very unlikely to be harmed by, only to put their lives at greater risk by injecting a known toxin? The spike protein in the “vaccine” has been found to cause vascular damage. In animal studies the spike protein connects with the ACE2 receptors in the reproductive system causing infertility. What about in humans? We are the study. If there is any doubt, pray for further clarification. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).

The very fact that the government is considering mandating (or allowing businesses to mandate) an experimental gene therapy, which should normally only be taken with informed consent is breaking our own Biosecurity Act 2015 (see summary leaflet).3 This should be grave reason for concern. See here for a letter we can use to give employers mandating the jab.

Choose Faith over Fear

It is easy to succumb to fear. Let’s take courage and actively pursue faith in God at this time. Trusting Him will shield us from the fiery fear darts of the enemy (Ephesians 6:6). Paul wrote to the Thessalonians not to fear death, not to fear persecution but to stay strong in faith (II Thess 3). I pray our families will choose faith over fear.

1I have deliberately written “vaccine” in inverted commas as it is not like any other vaccine we have encountered before. See (gene therapy-based vaccines). The CDC has now changed the definition of “Vaccine” to suit the new climate.

3 Is it any surprise that in the last month, here in Australia, that they are changing the wording on this document to allow the government more control?
